WHY DO I EVEN GO TO CHURCH?
Most people go to church because they;
1. Want to live long
2. Want to be rich
3. Want to be known for their good deeds
4. Want God to notice them .
5. to get inspired
6. You are dating one of the members
7. The church is a lovely place to be
8. Musical programs and dinner theaters
9. It is where my parents or spouse attend
10. The church needs me.
But any of these shouldn't be a reason for us to go to church , if it does, then we are not babies in Christ but zygotes.
These are the genuine reasons for us to go to church
1. To have fellowship with your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
1 John 1:3 We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
2. Jesus Christ died for the church.
Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.
3. We must be imitators of Christ and His apostles.
Luke 4:16 He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read.
4. You learn and better understand Scripture. It increases your growth on your walk of faith.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
5.. To be a good example.
1 Timothy 4:12 Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
6. It is important for spiritual growth and spiritual strength.
Colossians 1:9-10 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God
Going to church regularly is doing God’s will.
